In this Chinese creation myth, Pangu woke in a chaotic mess. With his large hands, he smashed the “Cosmic Egg” and used his body to keep the pieces separate. After thousands of years of holding the sky and earth apart, he finally died of exhaustion. His bod y became the world we now live in, with wind, rain, rivers, mountains, and all that we need.
